I’ve decided to start blogging about more than just my theatrical endeavors. I’ve fallen in love with cooking and baking. Here are two examples of cookies recipes I’ve played with from regular chocolate chip recipes I found online. I’m also going through a HUGE Kale Chip phase.

DARLING. a new musical: Ryan Scott Oliver and B.T Rybeck

RareWorks Theatre Company and RETROP productions brought Ryan and Brett to Emerson to see the first fully staged production of their musical “Darling”.

This week we had Daniel Mate come and work with our Studio. We sang some of his songs and made him talk about his life. ALSO he’s Canadian! Check him out! http://www.danielmate.com/

Over winter break EJ Lee and I started to film my children’s pilot “Library Adventures” (working title haha). It’s a children’s TV show (maybe web-series) catering to a library curriculum. I’m asking a friend from school who makes and works with puppets to collaborate with me! Summer project- I’ll keep you updated!

Every year, the seniors spend the last half of first semester putting together a Cabaret. We have 10 minutes to do whatever we want-it is a highly anticipated event and most of our grade for the semester. I chose to do mine on “growing up”. I talked about how I’ve learned that growing up an becoming an adult isn’t something that is just going to happen overnight-it’s always happening. All of the things I thought I had to change about myself to become a “grown up”, are things that I am now the most proud of-I know they’re never going away. haha. I realized during this process, that finding material to sing that I am totally and completely comfortable with is the key. If I’m comfortable, then everyone else can relax and listen.

In my cabaret, I sang “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence and the Machine, “I’m the Bravest Individual” from Sweet Charity, “Mama’s Boy” by Elizabeth and the Catapult and “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks.

Hopefully a video to follow!
